Mr. Calkins holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Colorado in Boulder and is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Since beginning practice in 1996, Mr. Calkins has specialized in environmental litigation.
He has extensive experience in environmental torts arising from petroleum and hazardous waste contamination, asbestos, mold, and contamination associated with clandestine methamphetamine laboratories. He regularly litigates claims arising under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act.
He has further experience in the fields of UST cleanup project management, wetlands mitigation, regulation of mining, stormwater management, environmental aspects of urban planning and development and other local, state, and federal environmental compliance matters.
